Orange County Wound and Hyperbaric is an independent, physician-owned medical practice. We are the only freestanding wound and hyperbaric oxygen therapy center in Orange County and provide specialized wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy with all of the benefits but without the hassles and impersonal treatment associated with hospital wound care programs.
The medical director, Darryl Werner, M.D., has many years of experience treating problem wounds and providing hyperbaric oxygen treatment to patients with a wide variety of medical conditions. Dr. Werner is a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Medicine and completed residency training in Emergency Medicine at Harbor UCLA Medical Center. He is board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Hyperbaric & Undersea Medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
In our medical office we feature 2 Sechrist monoplace hyperbaric oxygen chambers. We have a 45,000 gallon liquid oxygen storage tank which can circulate pressurized oxygen through each chamber at a rate of 240 liters per minute. Our patients can sleep, watch movies or listen to music during their treatment under the constant surveillance of our Certified Hyperbaric Technicians or Respiratory Therapists. Our chambers do not require patients to wear a mask or hood to receive their oxygen. We also have full oxygen back up system and alarm system for additional safety.
Specialized wound care is provided exclusively by the physician and assisted by a qualified staff. Our office is warm and caring and our staff is competent and responsive to patient needs
Dr Werner is also a specialist in undersea medicine and provides care to both recreational and professional scuba divers who have medical problems related to decompression or other diving mishaps. We are also able to provide medical certification for diving for all types of diving. Sports Chalet and many other local dive teaching centers refer students to us for medical clearance. The Metropolitan Water District also trusts our office with the medical care of their professional scuba divers.
